Serving Opportunities

Get Involved

Help Build What Comes Next

Saltwater Mission is just beginning, and we believe this ministry will be built through people who are willing to show up, serve, pray, and help create a place of hope for women.

Right now, our volunteer opportunities are growing alongside the ministry. Some opportunities are practical and hands-on, while others help us prepare for what is coming.

You might help paint a room, organize supplies, join a Work & Witness team, pray for the ministry, help with an event, or use your gifts behind the scenes. As Saltwater Mission grows, there will be opportunities to become more directly involved in supporting women in recovery and their journey toward restoration.

Ways You Can Serve

🔨 Build
Join a Work & Witness team or help with renovations, painting, maintenance, cleaning, gardening, and preparing our spaces.

🙏 Pray
Become part of our prayer team and help surround Saltwater Mission, the women we serve, our leaders, and this ministry with prayer.

🤝 Serve
Use your gifts in hospitality, administration, fundraising, events, communications, transportation, or other practical areas.

🌱 Help Us Prepare
As we develop our programs, there will be opportunities to help build resources, prepare spaces, and support the foundation of the ministry.

💙 Walk Alongside
As programs develop, opportunities will grow for people who are equipped and approved to serve directly with women in recovery.

You Don't Have to Know Exactly Where You Fit

Maybe you have a specific skill. Maybe you simply have a willing heart.

You don't need to know exactly how you can help before reaching out. Tell us a little about yourself, your gifts, and what you're interested in, and we'll help you find a way to be part of what God is building.

Serve With Us

Because Saltwater Mission serves women who may be experiencing significant vulnerability, we take safety seriously. Depending on the role, volunteers may be required to complete an interview, references, MinistrySafe training, a police record/vulnerable sector check, and other appropriate screening or orientation before serving.

Land Acknowledgement

Halifax Regional Municipality is in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people. The people of the Mi’kmaw Nation have lived on this territory for millennia, and we acknowledge them as the past, present and future caretakers of this land.  Historically, a land acknowledgment is a traditional practice shared amongst Indigenous groups to recognize the Indigenous land and territory they are visiting. Today a land acknowledgement remains a way to express one’s gratitude to the Indigenous people for being stewards of the land that we live and work on.
