Faith is at the heart of who we are.

Saltwater Mission is rooted in the Christian faith and the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition.

We believe:

Every person has dignity.
People are made in the image of God and are worthy of dignity, respect, and care.

Grace is for everyone.
We don't believe people have to earn God's love before they receive it.

Healing happens in community.
We were not created to walk through life alone.

Transformation is possible.
Addiction does not have to be the final word in someone's story.

Faith and recovery can belong together.
Prayer, Scripture, spiritual formation, and Christian community are part of the life we hope to cultivate.

Safety matters.

We are committed to creating spaces that are physically, emotionally, spiritually, and relationally safe.

Saltwater Mission is part of the Church of the Nazarene tradition. Read our full Statement of Faith

Land Acknowledgement

Halifax Regional Municipality is in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people. The people of the Mi’kmaw Nation have lived on this territory for millennia, and we acknowledge them as the past, present and future caretakers of this land.  Historically, a land acknowledgment is a traditional practice shared amongst Indigenous groups to recognize the Indigenous land and territory they are visiting. Today a land acknowledgement remains a way to express one’s gratitude to the Indigenous people for being stewards of the land that we live and work on.
